Alessio Gordon Naccarati, PhD
Dr. Naccarati has been head of the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Unit at the Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (IIGM) in Turin, Italy since 2019. Previously, he has worked as senior researcher in the same group (2011-2019), as well as at the Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer, Institute of Experimental Medicine, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague (2006-2011), where he also worked as a post-doctoral fellow (2003-2005). He got his PhD in Human Molecular Genetics from the University of Pisa, Italy in 2003.
Naccarati’s research focuses on colon cancer, cancer microbiome, non-coding RNA, RNA sequencing, and the effect of lifestyle and diet on disease. He is currently the PI of a project entitled Fecal non-coding RNA markers for a precision medicine approach: how they reflect colorectal cancer onset and progression, funded by AIRC Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca sul Cancro.
Barbara Pardini, PhD
Dr. Pardini is a senior researcher in the laboratory of Alessio Naccarati at the Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology Unit, Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine in Turin, Italy, where she has been located since 2011. Previously, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer, Institute of Experimental Medicine, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague (2007-2011), and she got her PhD in Microbiology and Genetics from the University of Pisa, Italy in 2007. Pardini works together with Naccarati on research related to colon cancer, cancer microbiome, non-coding RNA, RNA sequencing, and the effect of lifestyle and diet on disease.
Prof. Cecilie Morland
Professor Cecilie Morland is one of the group leaders for the Neurobiology & Toxicology research group at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Oslo. She studies the basic physiological mechanisms triggered in the brain in response to exercise using a variety of techniques and model systems including animal models, cell culture, histology, confocal and electron microscopy. The aim is to identify new therapeutic targets for the prevention/therapy of stroke and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Kay Oliver Schink, PhD
Dr. Schink works as an associate professor at the Center for Cancer Cell Reprogramming, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. In his research, he utilizes advanced imaging techniques to study intracellular events like autophagy, macropinocytosis, and membrane dynamics at high resolution.
Eva Dražanová, MVDr. PhD
Dr. Dražanová works as an associate professor in Brno, Czech Republic. Her research focuses on ultra-high field magnetic resonance applications for research in the field of preclinical psychopharmacology. Her presentation at EHRC 2024 will inform participants about methods in use in preclinical psychopharmacological research using an ultra-high field MRI system. The main focus will be the utilization of perfusion MRI protocols in rat models of psychopathology and psychopharmacological interventions.
Jan Peeken, PhD
Dr. Peeken is the group leader for the Artificial Intelligence and Radiomics in Radiation Oncology group at the Institute of Radiation Medicine (IRM) at Helmholtz munich. His research interests include the applications of artificial intelligence techniques in radiation oncology for medical image analysis. His group’s projects aim to personalize cancer care by enabling non-invasive tumor characterization, prognostic assessment, tumor detection, and automated treatment planning.
