In his lecture, Dr Tomáš Sniegon (University of Lund) will present his new manuscript about Vladimir Semichastny (1924-2001), who was the chairman (supreme head) of the KGB from 1961 to 1967.
In 1993-1999, Sniegon conducted a series of interviews with Semichastny, which form the basis of the new manuscript. The total length of these conversations recorded on tapes reached approximately 130 hours. However, Semichastny's testimony is also confronted with a number of documents that Dr Sniegon has studied in a number of archives.
