One-day seminar to strengthen interdisciplinary cooporation and connection between researchers and projects in AKM (Section for Comparative Medicine).

Thursday 11th of May 2023 from 9-15, at Cerebrum Auditorium (MH2.U08.316) the AKM one-day seminar will be held to strengthen interdisciplinary cooporation and connection between researchers and projects in AKM. It will be a day with presentations from different groups working in AKM and it is an open informative event for all that would like to work in AKM the future. 

Participate in a day with colleagues all interested in good research. Allow yourself to get new ideas and perhaps new partnership opportunities while supporting a heathy research environment at UiT.

The seminar is free of charge.

9-9.15: Introduction and welcome (head of AKM)

9.15-9-45: Neuroscience (Eelke Snoeren)

 9.45-10.30: PETCore and cancer research (Montserrat Martin-Armas and Mathias Kranz)

10.30-10.40: Coffee break

10.40-11.10: Immunology (Tor Brynjar Stuge)

11.10-11.45: Use and choice of the correct research animal model (Scanbur + IDEXX + Envigo)

11.45-12.45: Lunch

12.45-13.15: Use of Zebrafish as a research model (Ingvild Mikkola)

13.15-13.45: Cardiovascular research in rodents (Anne Hafstad)

13.45-14.15: Vascular biology (Karen Sørensen)

14.15-14.45: Large animals as model for hemostatic emergency surgery (Kjersti Grimsbo) + Potential for future research at AKM large animal facility (Truls Myrmel)

14.45-15.00: Closure (head of AKM)

15.00-16.00: Tour of AKM 2 (new facility) - optional
