Press release: Indigenous Knowledge and Ocean Literacy at the Aldeia Maraka'nà, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the report is out!

ECOCARE is excited to share the publication on Septentrio UiT of the ECO_CARE and OIN Multisensory and Experimental Workshop 2024, entitled "We are the ocean, and the Ocean is us. A Living Laboratory to learn from each other and learn from the ocean." Authored by an interdisciplinary team including Ana Maria Montaña Mónoga, Giulia Parola, Margherita Paola Poto, Giuliana Panieri, Júlia Muniz de Souza (Otomorinhori’õ  Xavante), Natalia Médici Machado, Aline Wennerstrom, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), Rodrigo Tavares, Ines Barrenechea Angeles, and Jane Zimmerman this report is featured in the first 2024 issue of Septentrio Reports.

The report describes this ocean literacy implementation workshop held at Aldeia Maraka'nà that brought together indigenous knowledge, scientific research, and legal perspectives to deepen the relationship between humanity and the ocean.
