UiT offers many study options for US citizens as Fulbright scholars and students. We have a wide range of research projects, single modules and degree programmes taught in English and Norwegian, and the international environment in most of our research and higher education units are English fluent for a successful study or research visit.

COURSE CATALOGUES
UiT The Arctic University of Norway offers a range of course modules, which are approved for incoming exchange students.
Course modules are listed twice a year in the Course Catalogue for incoming exchange students:
- Course modules taught in the autumn semester: 15 March
- Course modules taught in the spring semester: 15 September
There are TWO course catalogues available for incoming exchange students:
NOTE! Make sure you have chosen the correct semester (autumn/spring) and campus (Alta, Harstad, Narvik or Tromsø) after you have opened the course catalogue.

LEARNING NORWEGIAN WHILE ON EXCHANGE AT UiT
Level A1 (0 ECTS), Level A2 (0 ECTS), and Level B1 (0 ECTS) are open for all exchange students in Tromsø only. All exchange students can register for these levels after their arrival to Tromsø. These courses take place in the afternoons and evenings.

As a recipeint of Fulbright grant to Norway, you may apply to a full degree programme.
UiT offers various study programmes with English as the language of instruction. The admissions to full degree programmes at UiT are organised once a year and the application period runs from November to December each year.
Please note that applications to full degree studies at UiT are handled by the central Admission Office.

The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) is not an accredited institution, and as such exchange students from universities that have a formal agreement with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, can apply to UNIS for courses and research and be registered as a student at UiT after being accepted by UNIS.
How to apply for exchange at UNIS?
Applying for semester exchange at UNIS consists of THREE steps:
- Apply directly to UNIS: UNIS - The university centre in Svalbard
- Inform us about your application at UNIS by sending an email to mobility@uit.no.
What happens next?
- Follow up with your application at UNIS until you have received an acceptance/admission offer.
- Make sure to notify UiT by email to mobility@uit.no about your acceptance/admission.
- You will be registered as a student at UiT – this means UiT will issue your transcript of records of all examinations completed at UNIS.
