Over the past thirty years, the field of endodontics has been under constant development. We are in an era of new dental education strategies. Increasing attention is attributed to dental pulp preservation in endodontic treatment guidelines and research. Endodontic case difficulty is increasing, and dentists should be aware of possible complications and consider referrals to specialists. Understanding the patient, the tooth-pulp-periradicular complex, pathways of pulp and periapical disease, along with systemic implications, are all essential for endodontic treatment choices.

This symposium seeks to focus on some of these issues, and we welcome colleagues, educators, and postgraduate students to join us in Tromsø for an exciting journey through various endodontic topics and fruitful discussions.
