Juliane Zelwies (b. 1976, Berlin) studied Sculpture and Film in Stockholm (1999 - 2001, Konstfack, University College for Arts, Crafts and Design) and Philadelphia (2005 - 2006, Tyler School of Art, Temple University) and was appointed Meisterschülerin in Media Art from the Berlin University of the Arts, Institute for Time Based Media in 2005 (MFA degree equivalent ibid. in 2004).
From 2017 - 2020 Juliane is artistic research fellow of the Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Programme at the Academy of Art, Academy of Art, The Arctic University of Norway.
In her research project The Reserve Elite she explores the habitus of artists (i.e. how their beliefs and ethics are reflected in their work performance and communication), both among each other and in exchange with other art professionals and the public.
