Microwave array antennas
In the array antenna project at IET a feed network is being developed for a flat phased steered aperture. The antenna has no moving parts, is physically thin and has a low weight. The project has a commercial goal with a primary intent of bringing low-cost antennas of this kind to be integrated in satellite communication terminals. Currently and planned for the time ahead there is a very high number of LEO satellites being launched for communication purposes by commercial players. They will connect users online no matter where they are on the globe. The bottleneck for ground terminals is still however the bulkiness and weight and slow adaptivity of reflector antennas for a large bandwidth capacity. Our antenna will make the gear for on-the-move applications light and slim and offer large bandwidth, and this without requiring you to stop the car to communicate.
