Admission requirements: Nordic applicants: Generell studiekompetanse International applicants: Higher Education Entrance Qualification and certified language requirements in English.

Introduction to entrepreneurship - Contributions of entrepreneurial firms - Entrepreneurship ¿ conceptual approaches - Types of Entrepreneurs / Types of OrganizationsIntroduction to innovation - Reasons to innovate - Value-driven (service) innovation - Implementation of innovationThe entrepreneurial process and innovation - Exploration and Exploitation of opportunities - Entrepreneurship as firm Behavior - Basics on Business Models and The logic of effectuationInternational and cross border entrepreneurship - Aspects of cross border entrepreneurship in the Barents region; - Internationalization strategies and - Impact of culturesObjectives of the course
Knowledge:
- will be familiar with central approaches and theories to understanding innovation as a core concept of entrepreneurship in general and cross border entrepreneurship in particular
Skills:
- will be able to apply theoretical concepts to understand and analyze processes of innovation and entrepreneurship in practice; will be able to self-assess his or her practical case study efforts
Competence:
- will appreciate the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship and can conduct teamwork based case work
Assessment
The following coursework requirements must be completed and approved in order to take the final exam:
Project and teamwork participation, i.e. attendance is mandatory (at least 75% of class)
Individual work, Paper drafts
The exam will consist of an individual final term paper.
Grades: A-F grade scale. Grades are A-E for passed and F for failed.
Retake is offered in the beginning of the following semester in cases of grade F and Fail.
